The Club:Sandwich app is here
+ the fate of the MSD

The long-awaited app is finally here, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you all!
(Holding for applause)
This was a labor of love from the four of us — Jordan, Tiger, Josh, and Adam — who’ve been vibe coding with one hand and stuffing our faces with the other. I believe it was Alanis Morissette who sang, “I’ve got one hand on my keyboard, and the other one’s holding a Reuben.”
Anyhow, we’ve been plugging away at this thing for long enough that we are proud to share it.

Team Sandwich pretending to be in a meeting, but actually just posing for a picture to put in the newsletter.
Many long-time readers are familiar with the Million Sandwich Database, which is being retired as of today. Bittersweet to be sure, but there’s no time for regrats.
The MSD served us well, pulled together dozens of delicious sandwiches, and put us within roughly 999,900 sandwiches of our ultimate goal. Not bad.
To honor the memory of our dear MSD (and to make this beta launch a bit more robust) we created a few fake accounts in the app and populated them with some of the sandwiches you submitted. So if you find yourself asking, “who the focaccia is @monte_cristo_knight?” — well, we made her up.
Ok, so the app is here - now what?
Glad we asked on your behalf:
Go to clubsandwich.me and enter your email to get your login code.
Set up your profile, and pick a fun username like our buddy @PB&Jen
Follow people you probably wouldn’t otherwise keep in touch with, like @coachjosh, @adamsandwichler, @craigertiger, and @jordan
Get a sandwich, take a picture of the sandwich, upload the sandwich (stick to that order, or it doesn’t work), or just check out what sandwiches others are posting.
See that link at the top of the app to leave feedback? Use it and tell us how you really feel. (Seriously, this is very useful and appreciated. And we know it’s not perfect so please don’t be shy about leaving any feedback, large or small, complimentary or not.)
This is our first release. The beta launch. v1. Whatever. We put a lot of great features in there (you can search, make lists of sandwiches you’ve had or want to have, leave comments on other reviews), but there’s more to come. For instance, we’re working up features that enable more group activity and offer more location-based info.
If you have more ideas for us, please send them through the feedback form. For now though, we’re hoping that you’ll have as much fun tracking and reviewing your sandwiches as we did while we tested this out over the last few weeks.
Ultimately, we hope everyone has a good time, and feels inspired to get, photograph, eat, and share a sandwich before the year ends — even if you’ve been trying to stick to low-carb bowls and wraps lately. It’s the holidays, come on.
We’re also continuing to work on merch for 2026. There’s still time to send us feedback on ideas from the last two newsletters, or to share your own ideas. Let us know what you’d like to see on those new tumblers and Patagonia vests!
Now, to get you fully in the sandwich-eating and uploading mood, here are some classics from the MSD (kisses finger, points to sky):

The Reuben from Davie’s in Amsterdam. Worth the trip.

The Fried Fish Torta from El Diablito 2 in Brooklyn. The second half was still good hours later.

The 555 from Deli Board, one of SF’s most popular sandwich spots. Pastrami, turkey breast, cheddar and white American cheese, and lots of fixings. Salty and smoky deliciousness.

Bocadillo Txuleta a la Parilla from an undisclosed location in LA County. The Pan de Crystal, imported par-baked from Spain, took this one over the top. They sell out within two minutes every day, and the reviewer made us promise not to tell anyone where to get it. But oh my god, I have to eat one.
We’ve been adding a bunch more in Club:Sandwich, but you’ll have to go there to see them.
Until next time, happy holidays. See you and your sandwiches in the new year.
Club:Sandwich is the world's first-ever members-only club for sandwich lovers (as far as you know). Together we discover, order, make, eat, and discuss sandwiches while building the largest, most comprehensive database of sandwiches ever. Grab a sandwich and then share it with us by adding it to Club:Sandwich. Uploading and reviewing sandwiches will earn you sandwich points that have no value and cannot be used in any way.
