Eat more sandwiches with us in 2026

Friends,

First, to all of you who tried out the new Club:Sandwich app last week: Thank you!

We couldn't think of a better holiday gift than the sandwiches you shared with us, or watched others share. You are officially in the Club, and the feedback you've given us has already been so valuable. May your New Year be filled with cured meats, melted cheese, and all the fixings.

Ta-da!

Now, to the rest of you, including some of our closest, oldest friends:

WTF, mate? We're not hurt that you haven't yet headed on over to the app, got your magic link, and created your (exclusive) Club:Sandwich account. But we aren't surprised either.

We see you. It's a busy time of year. Lots of travel and family obligations. Or maybe you're just waiting for the perfect sandwich opportunity to come along.

The good news is, there's still time!

If you missed it last week, here's our ask:

Go to clubsandwich.me and enter your email to get your login code or magic link.
Set up your profile, and pick a fun username like our buddy @PB&Jen
Follow people you probably wouldn’t otherwise keep in touch with, like @coachjosh, @adamsandwichler, @craigertiger, and @jordan
Get a sandwich, take a picture of the sandwich, and upload your review (stick to that order or it doesn’t work), or just check out what sandwiches others are posting.
See that link at the top of the app to leave feedback? Use it and tell us how you really feel. (Seriously, this is very useful and appreciated. Don’t be shy about leaving any feedback large or small, complimentary or not.)

So get out there. Get yourself a delicious sandwich, and share it with the rest of us. Because, to paraphrase Tiny Tim, we all love sandwiches. Every one.

And there are some great new entries in the app, many of which I ate myself while sheltering from the storms that hit Northern California last week.

So come with me on a quick sandwich tour of the Sierra Foothills.

The Hero from S.P.D. Markets in Nevada City. Sometimes, the deli counter in the back of the local grocery store is the best place to get a sandwich. This was one of those times.

The Gobbler from The Ham Stand in Nevada City, right down the street from S.P.D. This place was billowing with smoke for their house-made pastrami. But something about this turkey sandwich called to me. Excellent stuff.

The Braised Beef from Three Forks Brewing, in Nevada City. This thing was amazing. My brother-in-law visiting from Pittsburgh said: “We don’t get sandwiches this colorful at home.”

The Smokehouse Burger from The Station Public House in Auburn. This was just OK, but helped considerably by the tap list and tater tots.
